Benjamin Zhang ventured into the field of quantitative finance after his dad introduced him to the stock market. Merging economics with his passion for data science, he began exploring how machine learning algorithms could shape investment strategies. His curiosity spans multiple disciplines – from quantitative finance and mathematics to literature and journalism – reflecting his belief that numbers and storytelling are equally powerful in understanding the world.

 

He was introduced to John through the UChicago Quantitative Finance Summer Program. Currently a senior at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California, Benjamin serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of El Estoque, a nationally recognized scholastic newsmagazine, and co-founded The Unwrap, a data-driven zine that blends storytelling with analytics. His leadership extends to serving as Co-President of both the Bring Change 2 Mind chapter at his school and Taste of Bay, a student-run marketing agency, alongside more than a decade of experience on the soccer field.

 

At Aries Profits, his goal is to integrate design, data, and finance – learning about quantitative finance while helping others discover the excitement of trading and investing.
